Abstract

Software engineering (SE) is an effective approach of software development. It includes several processes for the development of software. Recent studies have reported that the application of Quality Function Deployment (QFD) in software development can be very beneficial and can provide better results. Traditional QFD uses crisp value and linguistic variable that yields uncertainty and vagueness, due to which results achieved, are imprecise. Thus, QFD is to be integrated with fuzzy so as to provide more accurate results. Fuzzy QFD can prove highly productive in software development. This paper aims to create a data bank in this area so as to meet the referencing needs of researchers and practitioners. To make the study specific, this paper makes an attempt to present the review in well-organized groups classified as SE, QFD, QFD and Software, Fuzzy, Fuzzy and Software and finally Fuzzy QFD (FQFD) and Software. The literature review is based on the data collected from various reference banks, papers and web sources. It is assumed that the paper can serve the needs of researchers for easy references on these topics.

Abstract

Today computers and the internet have become an integral part of one‟s life. However, with the increasing use of computers and the internet, comes a major problem called computer crime. There has been a considerable increase in computer crime. Digital Forensic is the buzzword for the current era that deals with the acquisition, preservation, and analysis of digital evidences. Operating system is main component of any computer which can be meticulously explored to examine computer crime. This study focuses on the windows operating system only. Windows registry is the cornerstone of windows operating system. Moreover, it acts as potential source for evidential data and thus proves to be a fertile area for crime investigation. However, the process is tedious and time consuming and cannot be dealt with manually. In order to address these issues, this paper proposes a futuristic software framework for analyzing registry of windows based systems. The proposed framework is built using Visual Basic (VB) and Windows Application Programming Interface (APIs). The proposed framework is developed as a part of Digital Forensic Tool for Windows Registry Analysis Software and it is anticipated that when completely developed, it would act as a vital component.

Abstract

Quality Function Deployment (QFD) is an extensive customer driven process that strives for higher quality and better customer satisfaction. QFD uses a set of matrices and involves massive data and thus the companies practising QFD have to use software for the proper management of data. Albeit there are many software available for the purpose but still the dearth of customized QFD software is highly recognized. However, the development of software is a complex task which requires carefully examining several aspects of the process to be automated. Software Engineering (SE) is a systematic and disciplined process widely used to develop software. SE offers a pool of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) models to develop software products. A suitable process model acts as an implementation vehicle in the development of software and thus evaluation of a process model from many available is a crucial task as it strongly assists in an efficient software development. In the light of above, this paper aims to evaluate a suitable process model for QFD software application. The paper describes each of these models at length and in the end, it presents the evaluation and justification of process model for QFD software application.
